Everyone is a Suspect - Party of the Month May 2012

Every month, we highlight one mystery on our Party of the Month link on our murder mystery message board. This is May's winner!

Well, well, well, where have we been? It seems like after the last month's Costume Contest, we holed ourselves up for... well, wouldn't you like to know? And you will. Soon. Very soon!

But seriously, we are super-excited to announce, albeit late, the MAY 2012 Party of the month winner.

Mystery of the Seas: Everyone is a Suspect...
This was the first ever murder mystery party that I've been a part of and I have to say, I could not have been more impressed with the kit from Night of Mystery. The kit is top quality and takes the "planning" out of "party planning". I'm getting ready to select and plan my second party and I'm expecting it to be even better now that I know what's in store. All participants pulled out all the stops and came in their best dressed character costumes. Each character was a busy bee from the beginning of the night until the end trying to piece together the puzzle and decipher truth from deception.

Thank you for an unforgettable experience! We all look forward to the next one!

Encourage your guests to do their due diligence before the party (study their character and come dressed appropriately). The more they put into it ahead of time, the more enjoyable it will be for everyone.

For this party, we turned our already tropical backyard into the middle of the ocean by lining the yard with black garbage bags, then hosing it down with a little water to encourage a sparkle off the moonlight. We then hauled a small rowboat out into the middle of our man-made ocean and encircled it with shark fins. We strung rope across the would-be deck and hung life preservers in case any of our guests were to fall overboard. To complete the ambiance, we looped ocean waves on surround sound from the back of the yard.

We came up with the idea to have some sort of a photo booth where each guest would have their picture taken as they arrived to the party. We resolved to create a mug shot photo booth seeing as how we were all about to be suspects in an upcoming murder. I could not have been happier with all of our mug shots. It was fun for everyone and is a great way to remember the evening forever. The Line Up is a MUST for all my murder mystery parties.
